Hybrid Minds are an English, Electronic DJ and production duo consisting of Josh White and Matthew Lowe. The pair came together through a shared passion for music. With a focus on melody, rhythm and energy, Hybrid Minds are taking liquid Drum and Bass in a brand new direction.
The music speaks for itself and tracks like "Meant To Be" and "Touch" have firmly established this production duo and DJ partnership as two of the most exciting new acts working within bass music today. In just a few short years, Matt and Josh have secured releases and worked alongside some of the most prestigious and well respected brands around, including UKF, Liquicity and Spearhead. Hybrid Minds don't take shortcuts and their dedication to music is clearly evident in their lush, rich sounding productions. Since they started releasing music in 2012, they have frequently seen high numbers of views and streams with tracks like "Meant To Be" gathering over 4 million plays.
As DJs, Hybrid Minds are no strangers to performing at some of the biggest and best musical events across Europe and beyond. They take their DJ sets as seriously as their production, having learned their craft using turntables before moving on to embrace and master new technology. Not ones to follow trends, Matt and Josh don't believe in being restricted to just one or two styles of music and have made a name for themselves by mixing brand new, fresh releases from the liquid side of the scene with classics, dance floor anthems and anything else that will keep the crowd bouncing. Their distinctive sound and unique approach has seen them build a very strong, dedicated and loving fanbase.
With such a strong following behind them, 2016 saw Hybrid Minds take the plunge and create their own outlet; Hybrid Music, which has already released a string of successful singles alongside remixes by the pairs favourite artists.
Building on this incredible success, their latest album, "Elements" released in 2017 which received a nomination for Best Album of 2017 at the Drum & Bass Arena Awards. Fusing the musicality of laid back liquid and the energy of dancefloor drum and bass, they had created the perfect follow up to their last full length LP, "Mountains."
Although this is just the beginning for these rising stars of bass music, with an ever growing list of gigs, festival appearances and more releases, they are already an incredible musical force to reckoned with.
Etherwood is undoubtedly one of the most promising young talents in the scene today. Originally from Lincoln and now living in London, Woody has already captured the imagination of thousands across the globe with his achingly beautiful beats and heartfelt melodies.
Fusing the upbeat energy of drum & bass with the chilled, atmospheric moods of reverb-heavy guitar and delayed piano rolls, it's hard to believe that Etherwood only started producing drum & bass two years ago. Already he's received support from Radio One, 1Xtra, Capital FM, XFM, Triple J and Rinse FM and has remixed high profile artists including Lana Del Rey, Jakwob, Gorgon City and Alex Clare.
Early November 2013 saw the release of his highly anticipated self-titled debut album which garnered much speculation across the musical landscape. The album was heavily supported throughout the scene from a variety of artists including Netsky, Sub Focus and TC while also receiving plenty of airtime from a variety of Radio 1 and 1Xtra DJs.
After the overwhelming success of the album, "Woody" soon picked up the award for "Best Newcomer DJ" and "Best Newcomer Producer" at the 2013 D&B Arena awards, bagged a slot with BBC Radio 1Xtra's "Xtra Talent" alongside Crissy Criss, and teamed up with Hospital's Devonshire duo Fred V & Grafix to lay down the vocals on this year's summer anthem "Forest Fires". This forthcoming collaboration has already proved its potential for crossover success by being added to the Radio 1 Playlist over a month before release. As he continues to prove his versatility and talent, Hospital Records invited him to put together their first artist led mix album in over four years, which dropped at the end of May, entitled "Hospital Mixtape: Etherwood".
As we look to the horizon, things are looking very promising for Woody as he unquestionably holds down the title of man of the moment in the scene. With a signature sound that is both instantly recognisable and deeply compelling, his dedicated fanbase continues to grow in all corners of the globe, all eager to hear what's next from him
